skylee Posted April 13, 2012 at 02:20 PM Report Posted April 13, 2012 at 02:20 PM The one with Chinese characters (on the scroll they are from right to left, but when we type it is from left to right) - 書通萬物 (books/literacy/knowledge/studying leads to understanding/enlightenment/everything) 時在庚寅年荷月於中國長安華清宮畔 (Gengyin year (probably 2010 or 1950) Lotus month (6th lunar month) by the side of Huaqing Palace in Chang'an (ie Xi'an) China) 寇鈺書 (written by Kou Yu) The painting with four women is simply a 四美圖 (picture of 4 beauties). This is got to be a replica, as it says the painter is 唐寅 (Tang Yin), who lived in the Ming Dynasty. The year marked on it is 丁卯年 (1507). 1 Quote
