New Members francinco Posted April 13, 2012 at 05:41 PM New Members Report Share Posted April 13, 2012 at 05:41 PM So, i bought this really cheap rice cooker, and the instructions are in chinese and i don't know how to interpret them. I mean that has not prevented me from using it, but i'm just really curious. Even tried to copy the characters on one of those online handwriting input thingies but it was no good. If i post a pic of the menu could anyone please please please tell me what all those options are? Thanks so much!
abcdefg Posted April 14, 2012 at 12:19 AM Report Share Posted April 14, 2012 at 12:19 AM Your image did not come through; at least I am not able to open it. But most basic rice cookers will have two buttons to push. One will be labeled 煮饭 (cook rice) and the other will be labeled 保温 (keep warm.) Push the first button when you put in the contents, and when the rice is ready, it will automatically switch to the second setting. More expensive and elaborate cookers may have other settings, such as one for making zhou/rice porridge, and that button would be labeled 粥。It cooks longer and slower when that button is pressed. gato Posted April 14, 2012 at 01:45 AM Report Share Posted April 14, 2012 at 01:45 AM Here you go: 标准: Standard 精煮: Deep Cook (probably at a slightly higher temperature) 超快煮: Fast Cook 加热 / 保温: Heat / Keep Warm 粥汤: Porridge Soup 蒸煮: Steam Cook 煲仔煮: Clay Pot 冷饭加热: Reheating Cold Rice
yialanliu Posted April 14, 2012 at 03:23 AM Report Share Posted April 14, 2012 at 03:23 AM Oh and the water level is set by how many cups of rice you use and the measuring cup might/should be included. The lines are how high you should fill with water after the rice is placed inside first.
