Manos Posted April 15, 2012 at 09:31 PM Report Share Posted April 15, 2012 at 09:31 PM Hello everyone! I am really excited having found this site, plenty of useful information around here! Straight to my point with a little briefing about myself. I m a student in the field of Law&Political Science and about to be done with my studies next February tops. My goal is to go to the UK(i come from Greece) for MSC on Business-China(there are some MSC which core subject is china-chinese business etc, for example Nottigham University gives you the opportunity to attent the second semester in China instead of the UK). Utterly i aim to devote my carreer to business that has to do with China. I ve already been there 2 times for business matters(family's). I am 22 years old. I have a private tutor coming over to my place 2 times a week x 2 hours / time and i study 2-5 hours/day.It took me 6 months to finish the first NPCR and i am on chapter 23 of book number 2 right now. I will be done with it by 15 June, meaning that i will finish NPCR 2 in 5 months(started around 15 January). My question is how fast can someone be fluent in Chinese and by fluent i mean 1) everyday life and every aspect of it and most importantly 2) business level but nothing too extreme....just being able to understand contracts and discuss about your business with the factory owner for example. Also, my tutor says that someone who has finished NPCR 4, is able to communicate in Chinese in quite some aspects, watch some TV. Someone that has finished NPCR 5, is able to read a newspaper and watch almost everything on TV except the news and that someone who has finished NPCR 6 is able to understand everything and everyone on TV and everyday life. Opinions on those statements? And one last question.....given the prior information about me and my studying, do you think it is possible to be on level ''NPCR 5''(to be done with it) by September 2013(which is when i plan to go to the UK)? Really sorry for the long post but any answers will be very much appreciated Also any tips that would help succeeding in my goals are welcome of course Thanks in prior!
