woliveri Posted January 25, 2005 at 08:03 AM Report Posted January 25, 2005 at 08:03 AM Has anyone heard of Minzu university in Beijing? I heard one of my former classmates was going to go there this fall but when I search on the web I can not find any info. Thanks, Quote
roddy Posted January 25, 2005 at 09:31 AM Report Posted January 25, 2005 at 09:31 AM Sounds like it might be the 中央民族大学,which I would never have heard of if I hadn't lived nearby at one point. That website is timing out at the moment. Roddy Quote
HashiriKata Posted January 25, 2005 at 12:39 PM Report Posted January 25, 2005 at 12:39 PM If it's the university that Roddy mentioned, I've got this bit of info from a friend teaching there: Central University for Nationalities in Peking: about 70% of the students are non-Han Chinese, such as Mongolian, Tibetan, ethnic Korean and so on. A lot, though, are rather sinified and are not so different to normal Chinese but the main exception are the Uighur from the far west who look, and sound Turkish and write in Arabic. Cheers, Quote
woliveri Posted January 25, 2005 at 04:30 PM Author Report Posted January 25, 2005 at 04:30 PM Interesting, My former classmate is Japanese and I know my teacher was helping her get into this school. I wonder why they choose this school over BeiDa or BLCU. Also, I found this unofficial site: http://www.nol.net/~cevin/CUN/ Quote
poohathart Posted August 5, 2005 at 03:09 AM Report Posted August 5, 2005 at 03:09 AM I found three websites that might be useful for anyone who is interested: http://www.cun.edu.cn/ http://encyclopedia.learnthis.info/c/ce/central_university_for_nationalities.html http://gladstone.uoregon.edu/~nkerr/ The first site is the official site for "Min Da" (as it is nicknamed)...it's in Chinese and I can't read it. The second site will give you a great deal of info about "Min Da". The third site is someone's personal site (like a journal) but it at least gives you three pictures of the university. Hope that helps! Quote
