carraimartina Posted April 28, 2012 at 10:16 AM Report Posted April 28, 2012 at 10:16 AM I have a Chinese text with this sentence: 在餐厅中点用的是一瓶DOC的酒,所谓DOC 就是一种分级制度,这个制度和法国AOC分级制度类似,对酿制葡萄由栽种品种,使用比列,酒精含量等都有详细规定。 My teacher says that there is a mistake in the text, since the object of the verb 酿制 can't be 葡萄 but it must be 葡萄酒,is he right? ( part written in red ) How do I have to translate? Thanks! Quote
skylee Posted April 28, 2012 at 03:12 PM Report Posted April 28, 2012 at 03:12 PM The obvious mistake is 比列. Should be 比例. Plus, why isn't 頓號 used in the list of doc requirements? Quote
carraimartina Posted April 28, 2012 at 03:17 PM Author Report Posted April 28, 2012 at 03:17 PM 顿号 was my mistake, sorry. But what about the object of the verb 酿制? Can it be 葡萄 or must it be 葡萄酒? Quote
skylee Posted April 28, 2012 at 03:31 PM Report Posted April 28, 2012 at 03:31 PM I wonder if 釀造葡萄 must be interpreted as verb+object. Could it mean the grape used for winemaking? But based on the way the sentence is written it seems that your teacher is right. Quote
xiaocai Posted April 29, 2012 at 02:23 AM Report Posted April 29, 2012 at 02:23 AM I just feel the last bit of the sentence badly written. Even if you change 葡萄 to 葡萄酒 it still sounds strange to me, because the subject of 栽种品种 and 使用比例 should be 葡萄 rather than 葡萄酒. Personally I think it may be better to rephrase it to something like 葡萄的栽种品种、使用比例,成品的酒精含量. Quote
malanting Posted May 30, 2012 at 11:24 AM Report Posted May 30, 2012 at 11:24 AM He's right. There's a word called 酿酒 Quote
