'staying' in a hotel

If you're talking about where you'll be staying, what are the differences in nuance/meaning/correctness in the following (X being the name of the hotel):

1。 住X旅馆

2。 暂住X旅馆

3。 呆X旅馆

4。 逗留X旅馆

and which ones need 在?

Many thanks for your expert advice!

1, 2 and 3 should have a 在. These sentences are OK . I can think of how 2 can go without 在 (for conciseness in writing). 3 has a funny / relaxed tone. For 3, you could also use 歪 as an alternative (implying idleness/sickness).

I think 4 is not OK. You don't use 逗留 for a stay in a hotel.

Also keep in mind that Chinese does not usually differentiate between "stay" (in a hotel") and "live" (in a city). Both are 住. That's why Chinese people often get them mixed up in English ("I'm living at xxx Hotel...").

Most Chinese people I know use 呆 for stay in a hotel/city when on vacation. They told me 呆 is for a shorter stay, 住 is for longer.

---------------------------------------

-你在这里呆了多少年了?

-七年.

What do you say? I do hear this a lot a lot.
