Pengyou Posted May 7, 2012 at 11:16 PM Report Posted May 7, 2012 at 11:16 PM I am teaching children now in Taiwan and am looking for some training opportunities this summer to help me become more creative/proficient/efficient, etc. I only have about a week free and am limited to Asia. I am also open to webcourses or video courses...almost anything. Topics? how to teach phonics, using games in class, effective teaching strategies, effective use of songs, etc..I guess almost anything. Any ideas? Quote
kdavid Posted May 8, 2012 at 12:32 AM Report Posted May 8, 2012 at 12:32 AM I'm not sure there are any TESOL/ESL training courses which are only one week long. Most are four weeks. Some hybrids are two weeks online, two weeks in person. If you only have one week, it may be tough finding something. If you choose to take a month off, I own a school in Harbin, Heilongjiang province, which does TESOL training and certification. While we introduce our teachers to all age groups, we cater to young learners. You can find more details at our website: Will-Excel TESOL Course Quote
roddy Posted May 14, 2012 at 09:43 AM Report Posted May 14, 2012 at 09:43 AM British Council might run training courses somewhere? In Asia they would be understandably aimed at local teachers, but may still be of use. Quote
