New Members hongichhan Posted May 8, 2012 at 01:37 AM New Members Report Share Posted May 8, 2012 at 01:37 AM Hello, my dad is Taiwanese and my mom is Vietnamese so basicly I'm half of both. When I was little, my dad left my family, therefore he didn't teach me anything related to Chinese, including how to write my name. He left me this text (it's my name), Can any one please type my name up here so I can google search it in advance for the effort of finding my other family ? : (The pronuncition is Hung Yi Shin, which is written on my birth certificate. My translated name to Vietnamese is Hong Ich Han.) Thanks!
renzhe Posted May 8, 2012 at 10:49 AM Report Share Posted May 8, 2012 at 10:49 AM 洪逸欣 Mandarin pronunciation (in pinyin) is Hóng Yìxīn. The pronunciation you gave looks like the same thing, only romanised using some kind of a hybrid system, close to Wade-Giles.

Lu Posted May 11, 2012 at 02:40 PM Report Share Posted May 11, 2012 at 02:40 PM Yeah, names are often like thatTaiwanese names at least. Mainland Chinese names usually not. Hong Kong also has a system, if I'm not mistaken. Also I agree with Skylee, a nice and normal name.
