imron Posted May 16, 2012 at 10:45 PM Report Posted May 16, 2012 at 10:45 PM I actually thought it was 20, although the last time I read about that law was a few years ago and it may have been adjusted. According to a recent episode of 锵锵三人行, it's 34. The relevant quote is at about the 4:44 mark (the speaker is a Chinese director). 1 Quote
lordnikon Posted May 23, 2012 at 08:54 AM Report Posted May 23, 2012 at 08:54 AM Cinema is actually very popular in China, especially western movies. You can see that Wanda group which owns the largest cinema chain in China just bought out AMC making them the largest cinema chain in the world. Prices in China are extremely high for movies, usually 100+ rmb for western movies, less for local movies, even more for 3D movies. most people go out on dates to the movies so it is almost all couples in the theater, no kids, which is actually nice compared to america. But etiquette about not talking or using your phone during the movie is non existent Quote

But etiquette about not talking or using your phone during the movie is non existent I've always thought it strange the number of couples in China "out on dates" that are paying absolutely no attention to each other, and are instead on their phone.
