putonghua73 Posted May 23, 2012 at 09:43 PM Report Posted May 23, 2012 at 09:43 PM Integrating Chinese-Forums status updates with Twitter has created a huge noise to signal ratio i.e. gives the apperance that this site has been hacked and is full of spam-bots. The vast majority of updates via Twitter are just pulling direct from people's Twitter accounts without any filter - few of the updates are anything related. I wondered where Querido, Meng Lelan, Skylee and Dean A Swanson, to name but a few posters who regularly post status updates disappeared to, replaced by a whole bunch of regurgitated crap from people's Twitter feeds. There's a reason I don't use Twitter. Or am I on my own here? 2 Quote
roddy Posted May 23, 2012 at 10:02 PM Report Posted May 23, 2012 at 10:02 PM Yeah, I noticed that last week. I'll see if - actually, you know what? I might broken that myself. I think I had it set to only show updates from people with a certain post count. Lets see if I can re-do that... Quote
roddy Posted May 23, 2012 at 10:52 PM Report Posted May 23, 2012 at 10:52 PM Actually ended up killing the Facebook / Twitter status import - it just seemed to be all spam, all the way, and while we might lose some useful updates, I couldn't see how to automatically separate wheat and chaff Quote
Flying Pigeon Posted May 25, 2012 at 11:41 AM Report Posted May 25, 2012 at 11:41 AM Couldn't think of anything witty to write. Was suffereing from SUWB (status update writer's block). But I'm inspired to start again. : ) Quote
