jiumozhi Posted January 30, 2005 at 12:28 AM Report Posted January 30, 2005 at 12:28 AM I am trying to figure out how to input simplified chinese using Windows XP's cangjie IME. I can input some characters, like 国 (country), but can't figure out 说 (say) or 来 (come). I've tried using the database at Wiktionary <http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Wiktionary:Chinese_Pinyin_index> to look up codes, but sometimes they don't work. Why do different Cangjie IME use seemingly different codes? Quote
perjp Posted January 30, 2005 at 01:46 PM Report Posted January 30, 2005 at 01:46 PM AFAIK the Cangjie IME included with Windows only supports entring codes for the traditional character forms. The simplified character option then outputs the equivalent simplified character. For instance to enter 国 you'll have to enter the code for 國... If you want to enter codes for the simplified forms, you'll need a third-party IME, try http://www.chinesecj.com/, in the download section you should find 倉頡第五代國際版. It's free, and I find it far superior to the one included with Windows. Quote
