akire Posted August 1, 2012 at 03:42 PM Report Posted August 1, 2012 at 03:42 PM Hi, i'm thinking about applying for the schoolorship next year and i have a question that i hope you can help me with. i'm wondering if it's possible to split up the schoolorship between two different universities? I'm intrested in spending the fall semester in Beijing and the spring semester in Guangdong. Do you think it's possible?
eshton Posted August 1, 2012 at 05:47 PM Report Posted August 1, 2012 at 05:47 PM @KyleR how did the OAS send your documents?
KyleR Posted August 1, 2012 at 06:59 PM Report Posted August 1, 2012 at 06:59 PM @eshton they fedexed it to me. once they send u an email telling u it has been mailed u shuld receive it in 2 days
eshton Posted August 1, 2012 at 07:31 PM Report Posted August 1, 2012 at 07:31 PM @KyleR Thanks a lot. I'm still waiting to get my stuff. I've been looking into the visa issue and it really seems that we have to suck it up and deal the embassy in Jamaica.
KyleR Posted August 1, 2012 at 07:35 PM Report Posted August 1, 2012 at 07:35 PM @eshton ur welcome bro and yea we have no other option really. my mom called them yesterday and they said it takes 4 working days to process the visa and we r only getting a one time entry. when we get to China we are supposed to do something else at the university to extend that but idk what exactly.
eshton Posted August 1, 2012 at 07:38 PM Report Posted August 1, 2012 at 07:38 PM @KyleR Actually we can do the express service of 2 days for $26USD extra. When we get to China our university will get us a residence permit at the public security bureau.
KyleR Posted August 1, 2012 at 07:45 PM Report Posted August 1, 2012 at 07:45 PM @eshton i dont really see the sense in doing it express caz ur stil gonna get it within a 2 week period due to shipping. its gonna take two days to get there and about two days to get back here. in the scholarship packet it says we are supposed to apply for the residency permit within 30 of arriving in China at the local authority aka police department :/
eshton Posted August 1, 2012 at 07:49 PM Report Posted August 1, 2012 at 07:49 PM @KyleR Not really. You have send it with fedex or dhl to them with the return envelope. I'm more concerned about the time frame because they haven't sent mine as yet. Yeah but you can't go in without a rep from your university.

Adil Posted August 2, 2012 at 05:16 AM Report Posted August 2, 2012 at 05:16 AM @Sumair Channa You could try calling IPC, 051-9204225. Which univ did you apply to? try looking for a list on that univ website...
