anonymoose Posted January 30, 2005 at 12:13 PM Report Posted January 30, 2005 at 12:13 PM In my chinese text book, one of the exercises gives some mixed up words, which can be rearranged into sentences. One of them is as follows: 在 以后 了 老张 几乎 时间 都 炒 退休 把 花 股票 上 把 What confuses me is that there are two 把s, and I don't really know how to incorporate them into one sentence. This is my attempt: 老张退休了以后把时间几乎都花在把股票炒上。 However, I don't think this is correct, and I cannot really see how to rearrange it into a correct sentence. If there were only one 把, then I would say 老张退休了以后把时间几乎都花在炒股票上, but unless there is a mistake in my book, I think two 把s have to be used. Any ideas? Quote
Guest IVYtony Posted January 30, 2005 at 09:12 PM Report Posted January 30, 2005 at 09:12 PM the sentence should be: 老张退休以后把时间几乎都花在炒股票上 了。 Quote

I remmber this same question causing loads of trouble in my class a couple of years ago, until we finally all came to the conclusion that the second ba was a mistake. Quote
