Etwood Posted January 31, 2005 at 07:56 AM Report Posted January 31, 2005 at 07:56 AM I currently have a Nokia 3200 mobile phone and it can be changed into Chinese so you can view the menu's etc in characters, BUT for some reason you cannot input characters. Is it just me, or does that seem slightly stupid? I have tried everything to input characters, even chinese friends of mine have tried, but to no avail. I think the problem is that I only have an English 'dictionary' installed on my phone. Is there anyway I can get a chinese dictionary on it, or if anyone know what is really happening with my phone, i would really appreciate some advice/help! Thanks, Etwood Quote

mark1888 Posted February 6, 2005 at 02:34 AM Report Posted February 6, 2005 at 02:34 AM Did you buy your phone in China? If so it seems you have to change the language setting for the whole phone (menus etc.) before you can input characters to messages etc using pinyin. I was messing around with a students nokia 3200 and that seemed to be the case, which is kind of annoying as other brands of phone can have the operating language in english but you can still swich it in message editor to type chinese. Once you menus are in chinese when you are in message editor you will probably still need to switch it to pinyin, i think hitting the hash/pound key # once or twice should change it. Good Luck Quote
