terryswift Posted January 31, 2005 at 07:06 PM Report Posted January 31, 2005 at 07:06 PM i'm confused; are kunming college of chinese studies and kunming college of eastern language and culture the same entity, or are they seperate schools. i have the admission notice from kcelc but the address looks the same as the km college of chinese studies. anyone know is this the same place? mr. fanglang Posted February 27, 2005 at 02:31 PM Report Posted February 27, 2005 at 02:31 PM the 2 websites also have identical pictures, and the names of the schools in chinese are exactly the same. so , yes, its the same school. Quote
mr.stinky Posted February 28, 2005 at 02:03 AM Report Posted February 28, 2005 at 02:03 AM is the elcec site out of date? replaced by sinostudy? there are different tuition rates between the two sites, as well as different rates on the elcec site under tuition and under fees. seems that sinostudy is the more recent. cost is actually greater than the regular universities. and their new school in dali (Dali College of Chinese Studies) is ~ $10k tuition (with accoms). looks like they are opening a new school in lijiang next spring. mrterrell Posted August 3, 2005 at 11:30 PM Report Posted August 3, 2005 at 11:30 PM Could this be because Sinostudy reached their government "admissions quota", and as that entity could no longer accept new students, so therefore created the ELCEC as a way to get around the quota? Quote
terryswift Posted August 11, 2005 at 01:58 AM Author Report Posted August 11, 2005 at 01:58 AM sinostudy is a private agent that collects a commission when they send a student to kunming college of eastern languages, or whatever the official school name is. they collect that commission from the student, hence the higher cost if you go through them (so apply directly to the school and save money). i also recently heard that another language school will open in downtown km with small classes and even chearper tuition. i'll post their website when it becomes available.
