Demonic_Duck Posted June 20, 2012 at 03:40 PM Report Share Posted June 20, 2012 at 03:40 PM 汉字 captchas are horrible. I mean alphabetical ones can be bad enough, but these just take the biscuit.
creamyhorror Posted June 20, 2012 at 05:53 PM Report Share Posted June 20, 2012 at 05:53 PM 汉字 captchas are horrible. I mean alphabetical ones can be bad enough, but these just take the biscuit. Honestly, these aren't hard to read at all once you're passingly familiar with various hanzi font styles. Alphabetical captchas can easily be worse, because letters are simpler than characters. Characters' complexity makes it easier to distinguish them.

Alphabetical captchas can easily be worse, because letters are simpler than characters. Characters' complexity makes it easier to distinguish them. I was specifically thinking of examples like 己 and 已, really, and other characters that are very similar (and practically indistinguishable when distorted). I admit that my unfamiliarity with many 汉字 doesn't help though.

When was first learning chinese and trying to make a 人人 this was the death of me. Due to the fact I could only read 一二三 at the time lol
