Jeremy Andrews Posted November 29, 2013 at 06:02 AM Report Posted November 29, 2013 at 06:02 AM You guys actually disabled the Quote button on purpose? I thought this forum software just didn't include it for some reason. I'm curious, did you also recently disable the ability to cut/paste text? I was able to do that when I first came here, but today I'm suddenly unable to paste ANYTHING into a message I want to post. If so, I don't care for that at all, because I usually compose forum posts in Notepad due to the fact that sometimes hitting backspace causes me to go back a page and lose all my work. I feel that you should reconsider totally disabling copy/pasting. I can live without a quote button, but if I can't even copy/paste text... that really seems like going a little too far to me. Quote
imron Posted November 29, 2013 at 06:17 AM Report Posted November 29, 2013 at 06:17 AM Yes, the quote button is disabled on purpose to encourage people to be selective about what they quote. Copy and paste should work just fine. What browser and OS are you using? Quote
Jeremy Andrews Posted November 29, 2013 at 06:33 AM Report Posted November 29, 2013 at 06:33 AM I'm using Windows 8.1 and IE11, and tried on two separate computers using that OS/Browser. On one of them, IE kept displaying a message asking me to confirm the site had permission to access my clipboard (saying yes to the prompt did nothing, however). I changed my security settings to fix that issue, because doing so had worked on another site on my other computer. Now the message doesn't display, but trying to paste something just causes the cursor to blink. I can copy text FROM the message box without issues. Just can't paste anything back. Well, actually, I just found a way to paste text after writing this. I have to enable "BBCode Mode" (the little light switch icon), otherwise pasting into the message box doesn't work. Maybe this is just a weird glitch in a recent IE or forum software patch, because it worked fine yesterday. Oh, well. Quote
