Guest Kurochan Posted November 10, 2003 at 03:37 PM Report Posted November 10, 2003 at 03:37 PM Hi -- On my computer, I type Chinese with this program that you can select by hitting a little "ABC" logo on the bottom right of the screen (where En usually is if you're typing in English. It's the one where you type in the pinyin, and it gives you a list of characters to choose. My problem is I don't know what to do if I want a word that has an umlaut in pinyin -- like, if I want to type green rather than road. What should I key in? I tried a couple of different things, but I couldn't figure it out. Thanks for any help! Quote
roddy Posted November 10, 2003 at 03:47 PM Report Posted November 10, 2003 at 03:47 PM I think this is covered in another thread somewhere, just in passing. Type nv or nuu is the usual method. This took me a while to get too, and I had to copy and paste 女 and 绿 from other pages to get them into my documents, which was annoying, as I was writing a novel about a green woman at the time. No, really . . . Roddy Quote
