peggy-liz Posted July 1, 2012 at 05:34 PM Report Share Posted July 1, 2012 at 05:34 PM This topic is about some useful Colloquial Idioms and oral sentences, now they are from the book""A course in Chinese Colloquial Idioms", I just pick up some useful words, and sometimes if it's too difficult , I modify the examples. I will keep on updating it everyday, if there are still someone like it. --Peggy Day One Mandarin Daily-“痒痒” 痒痒(yǎngyang): The literal meaning is that hands itch, but it means someone is eager to do something (with her hands). We can also say“脚(jiǎo)痒痒(yǎngyang)”,“嗓子(sǎngzi)痒痒(yǎngyang)”,“心(xīn)痒痒(yǎngyang)”.etc。 Examples: 1) 刚刚学会开车,他一看见车就手痒痒。 2) 我的哥哥特别喜欢踢足球,看见足球他就脚痒痒,就想踢。 3) 知道他们要去旅行了,我也心痒痒,真希望自己也能去。 Is there anything make you “痒痒”? You can have a try make a sentence by yourself.

They are copied straight out of the book called "A course in Chinese Colloquial Idioms" Beijing Language and Culture University Press. Even the English explanations are verbatim. They are taken from lesson 1. Here is a linkto the book where you will be able to read the examples you have quoted in your posts. Incidentally I can recommend the book. It is a good investment.
