deathtrap Posted July 2, 2012 at 12:27 PM Report Share Posted July 2, 2012 at 12:27 PM Apart from http://www.nexttv.com.tw/ I don't know of any other streaming TV sites. Anyone know of any? I'm not looking for youtube-like sites that stream clips, I want 24/7 streaming channels so I can just leave it on in the background and tune in and out as I like. Feel free to post any sites/channels that you want. Cheers!
New Members alphaecho1 Posted August 3, 2012 at 09:31 PM New Members Report Share Posted August 3, 2012 at 09:31 PM Having the same problem finding 24 hours TV to help with the Chinese conversation. Tried a few websites but the picture continuously stops and starts most of the time. I have now found a website that is offering free Chinese TV online. The TV works with a tv stick that you plug in to your computer. You buy the tv stick and then get free TV from China and Hong Kong. They have lots of channels, so I have ordered one several days ago, waiting for it to arrive. Will be great if it works, hope that my speed is good enough. Meanwhile if anyone has anymore websites that have Chinese tv then please post.
Scandinavian Posted August 6, 2012 at 11:50 AM Report Share Posted August 6, 2012 at 11:50 AM As I remember, PPStream worked quite well for streaming TV. Not sure about the channel selection though.
WangYuHong Posted August 6, 2012 at 10:25 PM Report Share Posted August 6, 2012 at 10:25 PM No mention yet of the official CNTV page? http://www.cntv.com http://tv.cntv.cn/live/ for the link to their live streaming channels. (Formerly referred to as CCTV, CNTV is the english abbreviation for 中央电视台) I'm not sure why they changed their name though... (Other than CCTV being an already well-recognized acronym for Closed-Circuit TVs) The website has all the CCTV-X channels, although there's also a Windows app (called C-Box) that you can download, which has links to a lot of the local (Beijing TV, Chongqing, Xiamen, etc.) channels. They also have iPhone and iPad apps... So far, the quality in streaming to the US seems to be decent... The only annoying thing so far is that sometimes the channels will go black... Since they're broadcasting the Olympics and have figured out that I'm in the US (and NBC has a stranglehold on the US market), I can't watch the Chinese streams... Really sucks!
