thechamp Posted July 7, 2012 at 04:51 AM Report Posted July 7, 2012 at 04:51 AM I think you've accidentally hit the nail on the head zhangkairong. If you're a language student, and you're pretty far into your studies, living in a smaller city with few westerners is fine - and much better for your chinese. If you're going without any knowledge of chinese, or very rudimentary chinese - it's going to be really crap. If you can't speak chinese and haven't really started learning yet, living in a smaller city with less foreigners will be quite draining Quote
Brian US Posted July 7, 2012 at 11:38 PM Report Posted July 7, 2012 at 11:38 PM I would be cautious about dropping out of the scholarship program mid year. Depending on the school, your visa may have serious issues and possibly for any future visa applications. I did hear from a friend that a German classmate doing a masters left after a semester/year and when calling the CSC to inform them of the decision he was berated by the staff. Again, classmate of a friend, and I'm sure his tone or attitude about the program wasn't great, but something to keep in mind. Quote
