what's the story with this in China? was just chatting at breakfast and the subject came up that a relatives child was sick, it's hands and mouth were rotting which gave me a bit of a shock. so the Chinese name immediately put this disease into my head. is it common in china these days.

last case of foot and mouth in Ireland was about 5 or 6 years ago and loads of cattle and shep had to be slaughtered but i don't remember it spreading to humans. what happens in china when there is an outbreak? is it common for children to pick it up. i'm presuming its quite rare.

It seems to pop up a bit. Last time I was in the countryside in 2009, these notices were posted on ALL of the doors in the village (and obviously I even took pictures!)
