Got this via email, just passing it on. Anyone participated in the past?

2012/13 is the 10th anniversary year for the HSBC/British Council Mandarin Chinese Speaking Competition and we hope all of the secondary schools involved in the teaching and learning of Mandarin will take part in this outstanding opportunity to celebrate and develop Mandarin language and culture!

There is the great prize of a cultural visit to Beijing in April 2013 for the winners with two categories to enter: Individual Language Ability (for Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced) and the Group Performance section.

We hope you can share and disseminate this fantastic opportunity widely across your contacts and networks; the closing date is 12 October.

Further details and an application form can be found at www.britishcouncil.org/schoolpartnerships-chinese-speaking-competition.htm
