prateeksha Posted July 26, 2012 at 10:43 AM Report Posted July 26, 2012 at 10:43 AM There are regular posts with 繁体字 on the forum and several people [myself included] are illiterate when it comes to reading it. Are there some tools or software program to convert traditional to simplified and the vice versa? I know there are several websites that can be found by googling. Are there any favorites? PS: Please feel free to move/merge if the topic exists. I did run a search, though. Quote
Glenn Posted July 26, 2012 at 12:43 PM Report Posted July 26, 2012 at 12:43 PM MDBG. Select "Look up All Chinese Words in a Text" and then fro the pulldown "Inline / popup annotation". The default is set to simplified, so any traditional characters you paste in there should be converted to simplified. 1 Quote
prateeksha Posted July 26, 2012 at 01:29 PM Author Report Posted July 26, 2012 at 01:29 PM Thank you so much Glenn. Edit: On second thought, this is not what i exactly needed. This is giving a word-by-word conversion with meanings and pinyin and all. Is there something where the entire data could be entered and it gives the output in the same line/passage/essay format [same as the input]? Quote
Glenn Posted July 26, 2012 at 02:33 PM Report Posted July 26, 2012 at 02:33 PM Hmm... well, you can set it to "Show only Chinese inline - details in popup" and copy from the box where they're converted. If that still doesn't suit your purposes, I suppose you could try DimSum. Quote
