duo21 Posted July 30, 2012 at 08:30 AM Report Posted July 30, 2012 at 08:30 AM All I remember of this Cantonese song from the (I believe) early 90's was "starting today we can be togther". "Chun gumteen ho chee yut chai" Haha. It was sung by a male singer. Oh, also, there was an Ekin Cheng song, also a Cantonese song from the 90's, that goes something like, "Cheng yee but din dong, cheng yee but foo tong". It sounds like the song in my head, haha, but hope it makes some sense to someone! Thanks in advance! Quote

skylee Posted July 30, 2012 at 03:07 PM Report Posted July 30, 2012 at 03:07 PM As to the other song, it is probably Andy Lau's 愛極濃 -> 1 Quote
duo21 Posted July 30, 2012 at 09:49 PM Author Report Posted July 30, 2012 at 09:49 PM ...Wow, just wow. Skylee, you are amazing! I never thought anyone would know what I meant, haha. Thank you so much! And just out of curiosity, Anthony Wong, is he a famous singer? Quote
duo21 Posted July 30, 2012 at 10:04 PM Author Report Posted July 30, 2012 at 10:04 PM Instead of creating a new thread, I thought I'd just post it in here. There was a cd, back in the early 90's (yet again!), that I remember was a compilation of songs and their singers. I remember there was Jacky Cheung's "Cry" and Alan Tam's "Drunk on the Street" as well as a song by Hacken Lee called "Fate Unchanged". The reason I mention this is, if anyone knows the song list on the back, there were a ton of songs from there that I have been looking for to hear again. Help is greatly appreciated, thank you! Oh, there was a song by Grasshopper too called "The World Will Become Very Beautiful". Quote
skylee Posted July 31, 2012 at 04:46 AM Report Posted July 31, 2012 at 04:46 AM I assume that the songs above are what you wanted. Please note that the "yat chai" in "Chun gumteen ho chee yut chai" does not mean "together". It means "all", "everything". The words' tones are different in Cantonese. Anthony Wong used to be quite famous. Quote
duo21 Posted July 31, 2012 at 06:43 AM Author Report Posted July 31, 2012 at 06:43 AM They are! Thanks skylee! I also am looking for the cd song list mentioned above, if you could help me, would be greatly appreciated! Love finding these old songs again! Quote
Lu Posted July 31, 2012 at 08:09 AM Report Posted July 31, 2012 at 08:09 AM Anthony Wong is still fairly famous as an actor, isn't he? (Or do I just think that because I know his movies.) Quote
skylee Posted July 31, 2012 at 08:10 AM Report Posted July 31, 2012 at 08:10 AM There is the actor Anthony Wong (王秋生), and there is the singer Anthony Wong (黃耀明). Quote
skylee Posted July 31, 2012 at 04:43 PM Report Posted July 31, 2012 at 04:43 PM I think this is probably what you want -> 寶麗金超白金精選'90 (song list at the right tab at the bottom) It has the first three songs you mentioned, but not that grasshopper song. (what a very special occasion), a less sentimental Cry獨醉街頭 一生不變 Quote
duo21 Posted July 31, 2012 at 09:10 PM Author Report Posted July 31, 2012 at 09:10 PM Yup, exact one! Thank you so much skylee! Quote
duo21 Posted August 1, 2012 at 01:51 AM Author Report Posted August 1, 2012 at 01:51 AM There is yet another song I could really use your help in locating ^_^; It was a fast song by Aaron Kwok. I don't remember the lyrics, but from what my friend said, it was about Aaron picking up his g/f from her house, I remember screeching of tires, and the mother (of the g/f?) saying something as well. I remember one part he says, "dixie nai", if that helps, haha. Oh, and he says "ho ho fai". Thanks for all your help! Love all these older songs! Quote
duo21 Posted August 1, 2012 at 11:42 PM Author Report Posted August 1, 2012 at 11:42 PM Oh, and there was another one of Aaron's that went, "5 4 3 2 1 Base!" Yeah, I'm good at recalling detailed info on these songs. xD Quote
