CSC scholarship's health insurance

Does anyone has a clue what does the "comprehensive" health insurance that CSC scholarship recipients receive include?

Does anyone has an experience with actually getting refunds from Anping?

I'm asking 'cause I'm checking what kind of private health insurance I'll need in China.

I wouldn't count on the insurance for anything. Couple years ago it was about 600RMB a year and it's a hassle to get reimbursed, which is generally done through your school. I guess it's fine if you are sick and only need to be reimbursed for around 200RMB. An optimistic British student thought his back surgery would be covered, which came as a shocker that they would only cover about $150 of it.

So do you recommend a full health insurance? In my country, a full one for China costs 200$ a month...

I was thinking that travel health insurance (coverage up to 1,000,000$) would be enough, am I wrong?

I would recommend a foreign insurance, but then you have to ask the "what if?" questions.

Same question rises for me as well. One of my friends, who was former scholarship recipient had some experience with the Chinese healthcare: she suffered from tetanus, so she needed the antidote. It was about 220 RMB, she had to pay in advance, and after getting better she took the bill to the international exchange department at her host university, where they gave her the money. I wonder what if the bill is more than 500 RMB?
