insighter Posted August 7, 2012 at 05:58 AM Report Posted August 7, 2012 at 05:58 AM To apply for a visa in your home you must visit the embassy/consulate to apply. Unless you pay extra to expedite it you must wait 4(?) days to pick it up. What happens if you cannot return for say two weeks to pick up the completed visa? Will they continue to hold a visa for you until you arrive to pick it up? In case it matters, I will be going to a U.S city consulate to apply for an X Visa to study under a scholarship in Beijing. Thanks in advance! Quote
fanglu Posted August 7, 2012 at 11:08 AM Report Posted August 7, 2012 at 11:08 AM They'll hold it till you come. If you wait long enough (and if they feel like it) you might even get a call asking when you're coming in. Don't worry, they won't throw your passport in the bin if you're not there on the fourth day. Quote
