Lu Posted August 8, 2012 at 11:51 AM Report Posted August 8, 2012 at 11:51 AM I'm attempting to translate a poem by He Qifang, this one: 再 赠 你裸露的双臂引起我 想念你家乡的海水, 那曾浴过你浅油黑的肤色, 和你更黑的发更黑的眼珠。 你如花一样无顾忌地开着, 南方的少女,我替你忧愁。 忧愁着你的骄矜,你的青春, 且替你度着迁谪的岁月。 蹁跹在这寒冷的地带, 你不知忧愁的裁子, 你愿意飞入我的梦里吗, 我梦里也是一片黄色的尘土? Most of it I get, some of it I can find, but I cannot figure out the title. What should I make of this? And as I'm here... What does 裁子 mean in the third last line? Any help is much appreciated! skylee Posted August 8, 2012 at 12:31 PM Report Posted August 8, 2012 at 12:31 PM Looks like 裁子 is a typo. Should be 燕子. Take a look -> http://blog.udn.com/ll5833/5609372 Quote
skylee Posted August 8, 2012 at 01:20 PM Report Posted August 8, 2012 at 01:20 PM Re the title, perhaps it is the second poem (after 贈人) dedicated to his cousin? Perhaps something like "another gift/dedication" etc? You can find in the paper here the background of the love story. 1 Quote
Lu Posted August 8, 2012 at 02:53 PM Author Report Posted August 8, 2012 at 02:53 PM Thanks so much! Blog is behind the firewall, but with 燕子 it actually becomes translatable. Now to find a nice Dutch solution for the title. Quote
skylee Posted August 8, 2012 at 11:05 PM Report Posted August 8, 2012 at 11:05 PM I was not aware that you are within the firewall. This link then http://www.literature.org.cn/Article.aspx?id=869 But the version with 燕子 is not hard to find on the internet. Quote
