Tako Posted August 8, 2012 at 01:30 PM Report Posted August 8, 2012 at 01:30 PM Hi everyone, I'm looking for recommendations on YouTube/Youku channels concerning pretty much anything about China. Entertainment, culture, life, language, news... etc. The only good language learning resource I found with very clear and good explanations was: http://www.youtube.com/user/sloppycheng Earlier I posted another great language learning resource, but i presume it was cencored because it featured sexy Chinese women in their underwear (teaching Chinese). So sorry for you, i wont be posting that link again.. Thanks! Quote
imron Posted August 8, 2012 at 01:49 PM Report Posted August 8, 2012 at 01:49 PM Earlier I posted another great language learning resource, but i presume it was cencored because it featured sexy Chinese women in their underwear As the person who did the deleting, I can tell you it was actually because: a) posts by new users containing basically nothing but a brief line of text and links are generally deleted, and b) there is already an existing thread on the site you linked to (Sexy Mandarin), and there's no real need to start another one on it, especially if you're not adding anything new to the discussion (which your post didn't do) but even if you were, the preference would be to post in that thread rather than starting a new one. giraffe Posted August 8, 2012 at 03:44 PM Report Posted August 8, 2012 at 03:44 PM If you're just looking for cultural stuff (regardless of whether or not it has value for learning the language) there's the Chinasmack channel http://www.youtube.com/user/chinasmackvideo?feature=results_main Quote
akire Posted August 8, 2012 at 10:04 PM Report Posted August 8, 2012 at 10:04 PM A channel I would recommend is SexyBeijingTV where you follow the AMAZING Sufei on her search for love. Her vlogs guides you through Chinese culture, speeddating and things that only happens in China. You should definitely check her out: http://www.youtube.com/user/sexybeijingTV She is hilarious!!! roddy Posted August 8, 2012 at 10:37 PM Report Posted August 8, 2012 at 10:37 PM And let's not forget c), that SexyMandarin has very little content and isn't a particularly good resource. Just had a quick glance at the channel and they've put out, what, 15 minutes of video in six months? And if the Fluentflix guy wants to know why his post didn't appear, I couldn't see any actual videos on the site... Quote
Iriscat Posted August 9, 2012 at 02:36 PM Report Posted August 9, 2012 at 02:36 PM I think this youtube channel maybe helpful for you. http://www.youtube.com/user/sdh929?feature=mhee And this one http://www.youtube.c...oldenCarpTavern is one of my favorite. Quote

I watched the latest vid on that channel and I must say I was impressed. Great subject matter and outstanding pacing. I was initlally just going to skip to a couple bits in the video to get the gist of it but I got hooked and watched it all the way through. Thanks for that! Quote
