New Members derekya Posted August 10, 2012 at 02:22 PM New Members Report Posted August 10, 2012 at 02:22 PM Dear all, We've been working on a project in NTNU to set up a social network platform for Chinese learning. The basic idea is to provide a platform for learners/Chinese speakers/instructors to share information and to communicate with each other through Chinese. When users produce Chinese sentences on their walls, the online news will be extracted automatically for further learning. That is, as long as you write, the program will try to spot a key word that is worth further learning and will show as much latest Chinese news as it can with the keyword in. Here is the demo (about 4 mins): It'd be appreciated if you can provide some feedback to design of the platform model. Information below is especially welcomed: 1. Your native tongue/ How long have you been learning Chinese/ Textbook used now 2. Do you think it's helpful to improve your writing by observing/imitating the writing in Chinese article? 3. To what extent you can benefit from the Chinese news reading part? 4. What would be your reading strategies if there too many new vocabularies in an article? Thank you for the feedback! Derek Quote
etm001 Posted September 3, 2012 at 10:25 AM Report Posted September 3, 2012 at 10:25 AM Hi, I am starting school at NTNU/MTC this week, actually. I'm a beginning student (I studied Chinese part-time for about 10 months before coming to Taipei). I watched the demo and have lots of feedback. It might be more helpful for me to try the tool and give you feedback based on using it. If you are interested, send me a PM. Quote
