Does someone have first-hand experience with this university regarding their quality and reputation? They offer a Bachelor's degree program for just about $4,000.

I do not have first hand experience on OU (except that I worked next to its main building in Homantin for 5+ years). But if I were to choose to study in a university in Hong Kong, OU would be among the last choices. But USD4000 seems to be very cheap. Is it for a year, or for a module, or for the whole programme?

Usually people would choose to study in the government-funded institutions, which also offer self-funding degrees.

The $4,000 are for the whole program. They charge the fees by individual course. I calculated the total fee from the required total credits. Thanks for your answer.

Thanks for your reply. I have taken a look at the OUHK website. It looks like at OUHK a bachelor's degree by distant learning requires the completion of 120 credits (160 credits for honours degree), each costing about HKD1,000. So the total cost of a distant learning bachelor degree programme wil be about HKD120,000, which is about USD15,000 more or less.

Could you share where you got that information on USD4,000? Perhaps you have taken into account your exemption in your calculation?

I am interested as I don't think one can get a real bachelor degree in HK with so little money. If it is so affordable young people in HK would not need to struggle for years to pay their debts for their degrees. Thank you.

I don't have the first hand experience either, but I have a Polish friend who studies there, I don't remember I hear her mention about it while she was studying there. That might tell you something. I would agree with 香港分舵舵主, OU would be the last choice.
