I came across this sentence the other day during my translation work and found it interesting:

回到[X城市]后,我便准备起我跟[Y]结婚的事情来。

I hadn't come across this 起...来 structure before. Is it common and could you provide a couple of other examples of usage?

Thanks!

掀起你的盖头来,打起精神来,跳起舞来,说起话来,走起路来。

Some verbs can be used in "verb 起 noun 来"pattern.

If you want to use certain verb+noun compound expressions (e.g. 刮风,下雨,唱歌) or an object in this construction, you need to separate them and put the noun between 起 and 来:

喜欢起古诗来了,唱起歌儿来了,做起饭来,下起雨来了,刮起风来了
