起...来 structure

I came across this sentence the other day during my translation work and found it interesting:

回到[X城市]后，我便准备起我跟[Y]结婚的事情来。

I hadn't come across this 起...来 structure before. Is it common and could you provide a couple of other examples of usage?

掀起你的盖头来，打起精神来，跳起舞来，说起话来，走起路来。

Some verbs can be used in "verb 起 noun 来"pattern.

If you want to use certain verb+noun compound expressions (e.g. 刮风，下雨，唱歌) or an object in this construction, you need to separate them and put the noun between 起 and 来:

喜欢起古诗来了，唱起歌儿来了，做起饭来，下起雨来了，刮起风来了
