studychinese Posted September 27, 2012 at 04:14 PM Report Share Posted September 27, 2012 at 04:14 PM Is the Galaxy Note 2 going to be the ultimate phone/tablet for learning languages? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_Note_II I can hardly wait for it to be released next month. The stylus pen looks awesome.
roddy Posted September 27, 2012 at 04:29 PM Report Share Posted September 27, 2012 at 04:29 PM Does it have any particular features specifically for language learning?
lechuan Posted September 27, 2012 at 09:18 PM Report Share Posted September 27, 2012 at 09:18 PM Might have a stylus, but there's very few good language learning apps that I could find on Android. I would have preferred an Android tablet, but ended up with an iPad because the selection of language learnings apps was slightly better. studychinese Posted September 28, 2012 at 08:27 AM Author Report Share Posted September 28, 2012 at 08:27 AM Roddy, it is android OS. It comes with an advanced stylus, big 5.5 inch screen, front and back camera, 2 gigs of ram, quadcore 1.6ghz processor. Right now I have a HTC Desire HD, but it isn't really good for writing on the screen, and the 4.3 inch screen seems too small (but still larger than the iphone 5 screen). The Galaxy Tab 2 is a good compromise between portability and functionality. Right now the apps I use are the paid version of pleco with OCR, and hanping pro and hanping OCR (I prefer hanping OCR to the pleco OCR - seems to be a much better implementation, recommended). Brandon263 Posted September 28, 2012 at 12:39 PM Report Share Posted September 28, 2012 at 12:39 PM Is the Galaxy Note 2 going to be the ultimate phone/tablet for learning languages? iPhone and iPad wth Pleco and add-ons works wonders for me. Also, iOS 6 has a built-in 现代汉语规范词典, which I find very helpful to look up words while browsing the internet.
