Can somebody please translate this symbol.

This is a symbol that they put on shirts and tattoos for the drum line that I am in, but I don't know the translation. somebody once said it had something to do with being loud, but I was curious as to what exactly the translation would be.

Aw man lol I did this from my phone so I thought there would be trouble. I had a different picture earlier, but the only one I could find this time was my friend's tattoo. I hope the slight glare doesn't make it hard to see. post-49561-0-36514400-1349500648_thumb.jpg

The picture is okay but I am sorry to say that I don't recognize the characters. I can't find them using any of my dictionaries, i am not sure but i don't think they are chinese or if they are they not very well written.

Maybe some of the more experianced people here may be able to decipher it for you.

I'm a native Chinese,living in Mainland. As far as I know, the character in the picture doesn't exist.Most similar character I can imagine is "镀" ,which means "plating".
