Taiwan Film Days SF - Need recs

Definitely see Edward Yang's "A Bright Summer Day" if you haven't seen it. It is one of the most memorable movies I've ever seen.

Thanks gato. I'm not sure I can sit through 4 hours of film though.

Edit: I found it online. Will try to watch this piecemeal.

I completely agree with gato, and clearly remember the click of my knees when I stood up at the end of the 4-hour film. :)

This film and Italian "the best of youth" (saw this one on DVDs, though, because it was a six-hour film) are great.

Don't know if this movie was shown at the film fest, but yesterday the 台灣書院 in Houston came here to show the film 雞排英雄 (Night Market Hero). Took my kids to the free viewing and they absolutely liked it. It is hard to find family appropriate films these days so that was a nice find.
