Leaving job 2 months after working visa is issued. should i worry

So, basically, my tourist visa is expiring at the end of the month. My school (Beijing) wants to do a working visa for me even though i've told them that i want to leave in about 2-3 months and go to a different city for work. my question is:

Should i take the offer and get a working visa, or should i get a business visa from one of the agents in Beijing?

My point being, the way i see it, it might be easier to change a business visa to either another working or a student visa later on. Heard its not a great idea roaming around china (or trying to get a new working visa for a different school) on a existing working visa when you are not actually working for the school any more.

School said they wont cancel the working visa when i leave if i decided to take it, but how difficult would it be in terms of getting a new job and a new working visa while still having the old one valid?

Cheers

On another note, does anyone have some numbers of visa offices in Beijing?

Working visas are tied to the employer.

You can't take them from one employer to the other and would need to cancel the visa from your first employer before getting a working visa with the second employer. You will probably also need a letter from your first employer saying the visa was cancelled before the second employer can get you a new one. If your current employer is saying they won't do this, and you are certain you want to move, then it's probably better not to get a working visa through them.

If your current working visa is valid, you need a letter of release from your employer to be able to get a new working visa, and as imron said, you can't just go to a new employer with your current working visa. So if you have a working visa, and the employer refuses to issue you with a release letter, you won't be able to legally move on to a new employer.

Ok, thanks a lot, sounds like the business visa might be less of a headache then.
