TheDogMilo Posted October 29, 2012 at 12:39 AM Report Share Posted October 29, 2012 at 12:39 AM Hello everybody, Im sorry if this is not the place to put these kind of requests but I could not find anywhere else to put them. I have been sent this text by someone very important to me and I do not know what it says. I have tried the online translators and I have not been able to get anywhere with them. I have also looked for people that speak Chinese here where I live but I have ran across no luck. I would greatly appreciate if someone could help me translate what it says here on the image I paste on this post. Thank you for your understanding and help. smurese Posted November 2, 2012 at 07:27 AM Report Share Posted November 2, 2012 at 07:27 AM Hey DogMilo... It's sounding good... Your "someone very important to me" could never be with anyone else but you, just like that K-Pop song: "nobody nobody batchooooo"... Plus, you need TWO PEOPLE TOGETHER for this kind of happiness...! However, is that "but" 可是 in that sentence good news or bad news...? We all deserve the story behind this.....please...
TheDogMilo Posted November 2, 2012 at 04:18 PM Author Report Share Posted November 2, 2012 at 04:18 PM Thank you so much for the help in helping me translate this text but I am still a little confused on what it says. I understand it has something to do with two people needed for something and that it can only be done with me which makes me happy but I dont really understand what the message is yet. Is it just saying that she is happy with me and that she can only be happy with me? What about that "forever" part? What about the "but" smurese talks about? The story behind this text is that I was travelling in India not long ago and I met this amazing girl with who we hit it off from the first moment we met. We had a love story the time we were together but when it was time to leave she left me this paper and said she wanted me to find out what it meant. And that is what I am doing! Thanks again for the time! Hope to be able to understand this text fully with your help!
jkhsu Posted November 2, 2012 at 06:59 PM Report Share Posted November 2, 2012 at 06:59 PM Is it just saying that she is happy with me and that she can only be happy with me? What about that "forever" part? What about the "but" smurese talks about? Here's how I would translate this note. And thanks to the other posters who have already done most of this, I'm just putting it together: "It requires two people together to create this happiness and fun, but I will never be with another person other than you." So yes, it's implied that she can only be happy with you but she's also saying that she won't be with someone else period. The "forever" part is just translated as "never" in that she will "never be with someone else." The "but" part is just a response to the statement that while "it requires two people together to create this happiness", however (you can substitute however for "but" to make this sound better), she will never be with another person other than you. So I think smurese's question is are you going to be with her or not? Because if you can never be with her, then that part becomes the bad news. If you can be with her, then it's good news because she only wants you.
