I found another phrase in a book which translates "明天我再来一次吧" as "I'll come back again tomorrow." My question is why is 一次 'one time/once' in that sentence at all? I'm not so sure. 再 here as you said may mean 'put off until sometime later' but there's nothing to say for certain that it cannnot mean 'again'. At best I think 再 in the 2nd sentence is ambiguous.
