Hello! I found another phrase in a book which translates "明天我再来一次吧" as "I'll come back again tomorrow." My question is why is 一次 'one time/once' in that sentence at all? Also, can one say 明天我再来吧 to mean the same thing (I'll come back again tomorrow)? Thank you in advance!

Almost the same meaning.

一次 emphasizes today I am already here to find out that I need to come back here again tomorrow, maybe I'm a little bit upset.

No, they are different. The second 再 means 'hold over' or 'put off until sometime later' not 'again'.

I'm not so sure. 再 here as you said may mean 'put off until sometime later' but there's nothing to say for certain that it cannnot mean 'again'. At best I think 再 in the 2nd sentence is ambiguous. It could mean either and only the context will tell you which of the meanings is intended.

actually as a native chinese I don't find 明天我再来 and 明天我再来一次particularly different. But adding 一次does make the tone softer and the sentence end more naturally.
