5-days visa for Shenzhen?

Recommended Posts

I am currently living in Taiwan. I went to Hong Kong two weeks ago and a local friend of mine told me that I could enter Shenzhen from HK without applying for a visa first. She said I could just take a train and I would get visa stamp valid for 5 days only within Shenzhen.

Is it true or did she make a mistake? I didn't have time to try that last time.

That's right. The 5-days visa which allows you to stay in Shenzhen only is still available, at least at Shekou, Huanggang and Luohu customs.

#1 -- It depends on your country of citizenship (and what passport you will be using.) For example, if you are a US citizen traveling with a US passport you will *not* be eligible for a 5-day visa on arrival in Shenzhen. There are other factors involved as well,

From your blog, it seems you are Italian. I don't know specifically whether Italians are eligible. You need to check it out beforehand from a reliable (preferably official Chinese government) source. These rules change frequently and sometimes without prior announcement.

A friend told me that at the Lok Ma Qiao/Huang Gang/ (make sure you take the right one) entry point in HK you get a 90 (!!!) day tourist visa on entry into Shenzhen for EU nationals. You leave HK, take a bus for a few hundred meters, as you go into the entry point you see the China customs, on the left hand side there is a little CITS counter that says something about visa on arrival and you can get it the visa there. You need a passport photograph and within 15 minutes you get a 90 days amazing.

Now I have trouble believing this, but he told me is friend did it. If you want I can get you the phone number, dont want to put it on here though, pm me.

I get my 90 day tourist visas at at Luo Hu, you leave HK via MTR (Subway) and somewhere between HK exit and SZ entry there will be a stairway going both up and down, you go upstairs.

It's about 440 RMB for an Australian, and you'll need a passport photo with a blue background.

Some countries may not be allowed and others may vary in price. I've seen a lot of people turned away.
