Need help translation for Tattoo

Hello all,

This one's probably going to sound a little weird but I would like some people to translate the following into Chinese for me:

"Shut the fuck up and dance"

Sound crazy, but if the shoe fits, if you know the expression.

This is not a joke, well it kind of is actually, but this is defiantly what I want my tattoo to say.

"Shut up" can be translated as 关嘴 (incorrect, see below posts) 闭嘴. I don't know how to translate the profanity, but perhaps 闭嘴 is impolite enough.

"Dance" can be translated as 跳舞.

Don't expect Chinese or Asian people (or forum members) to be favourably impressed by such a tattoo but if you like it and are not ever going to Asia... have fun

Thank you for your response, I hope I haven't offended you with my sense of humour, or the Asian community as a whole, but I'm pretty there are more offensive tattoo's out there both graphically and verbally.

Maybe my British sense of humour is a bit boarder line, but I'm sure it would make some people laugh and as the whole point of this tattoo is to start conversations.

So is the translation for "shut the fuck up and dance" - 闭嘴 闭嘴 跳舞

What does 閉嘴 mean?

I think 闭嘴 跳舞 is enough, but of course you're free to repeat 闭嘴 if you wish.

閉嘴 is the same as 闭嘴, only 閉嘴 is the traditional form (in use at Hong Kong, Taiwan etc.) and 闭嘴 is the simplified form (in use in the People's Republic of China).

Erm...

[閉嘴 跳舞] reads like "shut up. dance." and not at all like "shut the fuck up and dance".

I can't think of any translation that will capture the flavour of "shut the fuck up and dance".

If the object of your tattoo is to strike up conversations why not have it in English so that people around you (i am guessing you are in the UK because of your British sense of humour you said you had) can understand it and actually start talking about it with you.

Remember some things just don't translate well into other languages and even if you get a word for word translation the sentiment may not be understood.

I don't think it would be considered offensive but it may just not be taken in the same way it might in the UK or other English speaking countries.

So why not choose a really nice font and have it in English

But as usual I must add that if you are thinking of a tattoo in any language think once, think twice and then think again
