Requesting translation of "Mother Nature"

Translating the two words individually is simple enough, but I was wondering if there is another word/words/phrase that captures the "concept" of Mother Nature better.

If it helps, the American Heritage dictionary defines Mother Nature as:

Noun. The personification of nature as a powerful and nurturing woman.

Thanks in advance,

This concept doesn't translate too well into Chinese, I think you're best off using 大自然 if you want to refer to the natural world or 天 if you want to talk about the personification of an omnipresent force that exerts an influence on people's lives through nature and nurture.

后土 Hou4 Tu3 as Queen Earth, goddess of soil and fertility, is close to Roman/Greek Gaia/Terra aka Mother Nature.

Or this is what The Internet told me :-?

自然之母 is really an odd expression sounds strange to me, seldom saw this usage.

大塊 is such a lyric word, romantic (李白 used it). I think there is another corresponding word 造化 as in 杜甫's 望嶽, "造化鍾神秀,隂陽割昏曉".
