In English it is 'the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step'. Can anybody give me the definitive Chinese translation.

Thanks for your help.

The term is more acceptable to me but I don't mind others using "Traditional Chinese".Thanks for the note anyway.

Thankyou very much for the help. One last question, I want to write this vertically do I start with the left character at the top like you would in English or the right character at the top?

Start from the left (if you want it as a tattoo please make sure the artist knows what he is doing) like this -

行 (comma is optional)

Or in two columns, like this -

始 千

於 里

足 之

下 行
