Kent Posted February 19, 2005 at 07:27 PM Report Posted February 19, 2005 at 07:27 PM Hi There, Does anybody know if it costs any money to cash travellers cheques in China (Beijing)? I ask because it just cost me $45 to send a wire transfer to BLCU... Thanks, Kent Quote
梅克立 Posted February 22, 2005 at 05:13 PM Report Posted February 22, 2005 at 05:13 PM Yeah, it costs money... they won't tell you it actually costs anything, they just skim a little off the top when they convert the currency. Don't worry about it though, it's pretty negligible unless you are converting A LOT of money. If you haven't exchanged travelers checks either make sure and bring your passport. And don't GOOF up where you sign. Sometimes they don't tell you to sign in the right place and if you screw it up they will just rip it up... or maybe if you are lucky give it back to you (but in any case you have to get a new one issued from wherever you purchased them from in the first place).
