New Members kkrioooox Posted December 28, 2012 at 10:25 PM New Members Report Share Posted December 28, 2012 at 10:25 PM Hi everyone! I have a BIG favour to ask of all of those who know Chinese language and it's a really important to me, a matter of life and death! 2013 is about to arrive and I'd need to help me translating some sentences into Chinese: If it didn't bring you joy just leave it behind. Let's ring in the new year with good things in mind. Let every bad memory that brought heartache and pain, and let's turn a new leaf with the smell of new rain. Let's forget past mistakes making amends for this year. A happy New Year with full of success, love, health, wealth, joy and the greatest moment at the University. Sending you these greetings to bring you hope and cheer. PS. And I hope you see the snowflakes very soon. If there's a more colloquial version it would be fine too. It would be a very grateful for me if anyone can help! Thanks a lot!

I tremble at the thought of trying to translate and making an error so I will let more experienced members of this forum attempt to save you
New Members kkrioooox Posted December 29, 2012 at 01:45 PM Author New Members Report Share Posted December 29, 2012 at 01:45 PM Thanks for trying A matter of life and death because it's a really important to me. I also learn Chinese, however it's a very short time right know and it's too difficult to me translate the wishes. If my example of wishes is too hard to translate, could you write me any wishes which can I send to my a very close friend? Thank you for your effords, I would not approach you if this matter would not be really important for me.
skylee Posted December 29, 2012 at 02:57 PM Report Share Posted December 29, 2012 at 02:57 PM I think something is wrong about this text of life and death importance - Let every bad memory that brought heartache and pain, and let's turn a new leaf with the smell of new rain. Let the bad memory what?
skylee Posted December 29, 2012 at 03:29 PM Report Share Posted December 29, 2012 at 03:29 PM Consider - 把不快樂的事都放下吧。新的一年心裏就只記着好事。把讓你心碎痛苦的壞記憶xxx,在春雨的氣息中翻開新的一頁。過去的錯誤都忘了吧。祝你有一個快樂的新年 -- 成功、健康又富足,充滿關愛、喜樂、和美好的大學時光。願這祝福帶給你希望和歡欣。 PS:希望你很快就看到雪花飛舞。 It seems to me that the message is a bit repetitive (happy, joy, cheer). And I don't understand "Let's forget past mistakes making amends for this year.". PS - a more colloquial version could be 新年快樂!身體健康!萬事如意! Let the bad memory what? Oh, I took this poem from the website with the english wishes. So I know it can be difficult to translate it. I think the author had in mind to replace every bad thing in the right one. However, I just need any wishes in Chinese, so if you can help me to write anything sounds nice it would be grateful for me Thanks!
