Pengyou Posted January 31, 2013 at 08:55 AM Report Share Posted January 31, 2013 at 08:55 AM I am a teacher in Shenzhen and would like to set up a local vpn to include the computer in my apartment (as the server) and the 5 computers that I use in the school. In order to do this I need to have a static (non-changing) ip address for the computer in my home. Is it possible to get one of these in China? What is the Chinese word for "static"? roddy Posted January 31, 2013 at 10:22 AM Report Share Posted January 31, 2013 at 10:22 AM In this context, I think it's 静态, as opposed to 动态 for dynamic. Not sure about getting one, but I'd imagine it's the kind of thing that's come up on Chinese tech forums if you look.
arrow Posted February 1, 2013 at 02:03 AM Report Share Posted February 1, 2013 at 02:03 AM Then 深圳 固定IP should be your keyword to search. I think you can also host a domain name and use that as your server address. To do that, you'll need to install a client to work with your domain provider.
