韩城攻略 (Seoul Raiders)

韩城攻略 is a comedy+Kung Fu+007 movie that was filmed in Seoul consisting of HK/Taiwan cast.

Per Hollywood standard, this HK film is like fast food. The production only commenced in last October.

As a sequel to the successful "Tokyo Raiders" five years ago, this film wished to score big in Box Office.

But its result is far from satisfactory in HK's Chinese New Year Box Office.

However, its Box Office Record is another story in Mainland China. In merely 2 weeks, it already grossed RMB 30 million nationwide. It beat 10 other movies that are showing at the same time.

Moreover, it beat "Incredible" which set recorded Box Office worldwide.

Has anyone watched this movie and find out why it is so hot in Mainland?

Strange indeed. I've heard that the film is rotten and have no interest in it at all. Perhaps it's popular in the mainland because there is a lack of movies of such rhythm / style? Or perhaps it has to do with the strong 韓風 in China?

It is also strange why Tony Leung sometimes makes such movies (well my guess is after spending five years on "2046" he would need some quick money...)

Gossip - the movie's original name was 漢城攻略. Somehow it was changed to 韓城攻略 before the city changed its Chinese name.
