lonny tao Posted February 15, 2013 at 04:31 PM Report Share Posted February 15, 2013 at 04:31 PM Again, this is for sale on internet. Not the best photo because I take the photo of my computer screen. One character is not good to read, the person that take the photo of the painting was using the flashligt. I was thinking to buy it or maybe not, first to know what it says. Hope somebody can help me with this, the big characters, the three small ones on the left are to small to see. And...is it writing the old way I think? lonny.
skylee Posted February 16, 2013 at 01:05 AM Report Share Posted February 16, 2013 at 01:05 AM In my opinion, you should save your money. If you buy it and show it to your Chinese friends, they might not laugh at you but if they are good friends they would tell you that the writing is not good. The three small characters are 靜洲書 (written by Jingzhou). The poem is 人閑桂花落,夜靜春山空。月出驚山鳥,時鳴春澗中。 Instead of 閑, it is 間 in your photo. And instead of 澗, it is 潤 in your picture. Take a look at this to learn the meaning of the poem -> http://article.yeeya...iew/25125/10872
lonny tao Posted February 16, 2013 at 05:55 AM Author Report Share Posted February 16, 2013 at 05:55 AM Thanks for your reply. So its a poem and its not good because of the two wrong characters. Why is Jingzhou write it like this? The meaning of the poem...I use the link but do not understand, doesn`t matter. I like the painting verry much but when some characters are not good... Thanks for your help, I am going to look for something else. Lonny

skylee Posted March 5, 2013 at 01:29 PM Report Share Posted March 5, 2013 at 01:29 PM I agree that the calligraphy is bad. But are you sure it is not good poetry? It is Wang Wei's poem, though the version in the picture is wrong.
