Meng Lelan Posted February 22, 2013 at 02:39 AM Report Posted February 22, 2013 at 02:39 AM I have a hearing impaired student who wants to know if there are any online resources that can help her with tones in Mandarin. Basically you say the prompt (words, phrases, sentences) and the program will show you if you hit your target tone(s) well enough. Doesn't matter if it is free or for a fee. Quote
andysun731 Posted February 22, 2013 at 03:52 AM Report Posted February 22, 2013 at 03:52 AM It seems that software has not been good enough so far. Maybe you can find a Chinese to help her through skype, although time difference is a problem. Quote
Meng Lelan Posted February 22, 2013 at 04:17 AM Author Report Posted February 22, 2013 at 04:17 AM She isn't interested in Skype because of the hearing impairment. I do think there was some discussion of online tutorials or resources in here somewhere that helps give visual feedback on tones. Quote
