Rai Posted February 28, 2013 at 06:44 PM Report Posted February 28, 2013 at 06:44 PM So I am taking AP Mandarin right now and I was translating a story from a Audio Visual Level 2 book and this phrase: "好好儿地" came up. I could not translate it. So I went to Lao Shi and she understood it of course but could not tell me the English translation of it. 哦?那是该好好儿地庆祝一下。 My current translation of the sentence is: "Oh? Then we should celebrate a little bit." Thanks for the help! Quote
li3wei1 Posted March 1, 2013 at 09:24 AM Report Posted March 1, 2013 at 09:24 AM How about "Oh? Then we should have a proper celebration." 1 Quote
陳德聰 Posted March 1, 2013 at 10:45 AM Report Posted March 1, 2013 at 10:45 AM 好好 as an adverb just means properly, correctly, thoroughly, etc. That little 兒 is optional, btw. Quote
