Teashop Posted March 1, 2013 at 06:13 PM Report Posted March 1, 2013 at 06:13 PM Hello! we need to go to HK to get the visa for Taiwan, flying is too expensive so we are checking the trains but we are not in Shanghai yet and we heard trains can sell out. We want to buy online but also read there are many fake sites and we need to be careful. Any advice please? Quote
xiaocai Posted March 1, 2013 at 11:34 PM Report Posted March 1, 2013 at 11:34 PM The official booking website is www.12306.cn. You can use your passport to book if you don't have a Chinese ID apparently. However I can't verify that since i don't have a foreign passport. You need to use Windows IE to open the booking webpage; some other browsers may not load it properly. You also need a Chinese mobile phone number. This is easy as you can buy a prepaid number for a small amount of money. Quote

Teashop Posted May 17, 2013 at 02:33 PM Author Report Posted May 17, 2013 at 02:33 PM We finally didn´t make t to Shanghai! So we took a plane from Kunming to Shenzen and then the bus to Hong Kong. The cheapest option by far! Quote
